2010 : (AA) Tennessee Smokies (Southern League)

Canzler had a breakout career season in 2010 and was voted to the Chicago Cubs organization’s All Star Team as a utility player by MiLB.com. He was ranked among the top 25 hitters in all of MiLB by MiLB.com. In 112 games and 355 at bats, Canzler batted 287 , amassing 102 hits, including 21HRs, 28 doubles and 4 triples . Canzler batted to a .career high .566 slugging percentage. On defense, Canzler played 56 games at 3B (.878 fielding percent), 27 games at 1B (.984), 9 games in RF (1.000) and 1 game in LF (1.000).

 

2009: (AA) Tennessee Smokies (Southern League)/ High A Advanced Daytona Cubs (Florida Southern League)

Canzler played 28 games at Daytona, batting 270 in 100 AB, including 8 doubles, 1triple and 2 HRs with 14 RBIs before being called up to AA Tennessee. In 90 games at Tennessee, Canzler batted 258, with 60 hits, including 15 doubles, 6 HRs and 35 RBIs. At Daytona, Canzler played 24 games at 1B (.992), 2 games at LF (1.000), and 1 games at 3B (1000). At Tennessee, Canzler played 51 games at 1B (.985), 10 games in LF (1.000), 7 games in RF (1.000) and 3 games at 3B (1.000)

 

2008: Daytona Cubs: High A Advanced (Florida Southern League)

Canzler played in 98 games with 326 at bats with 89 hits for Daytona. Canzler ibatted 273 with 22 doubles, 2 triples, 12HRs and 59 RBIs. He led Daytona to a 13-5 victory over Vero Beach on Aug. 2 with two homers and seven RBIs on a 4-for-5 night at the plate. On defense, Canzler played 75 games at 1B making only 3 errors (.995). He also played 14 games in the OF with a fielding percentage of .950.

 

2007: Peoria Chiefs (Low Class A)

Canzler spent the entire season with the Peoria Chiefs of the Class A Midwest League. And nearly hit for the cycle in the third game of the season against the Burlington Bees, going 3-for-3 with a triple, a double, a walk and three runs scored.. He collected two doubles and three RBIs against the Fort Wayne Wizards. And batted .548 (17-for-38) over an eight-game span from June 17-27 with three home runs and eight RBIs. For the season, Canzler played in 125 games with 460 at bats, amassing 124 hits, including 24 doubles, 2 triples, and 7 HRs and 54 RBIs. On defense, Canzler played 98 games at 1B (.989) and 16 games in the OF (1.000).

 

2006: Boise Hawks (Short-Season-Northwest League)

Canzler spent the season with the Boise Hawks and named as an NWL postseason All-Star after hitting a career-high 16 home runs in 49 games.. He led the league in homers, RBIs (61), total bases (152), doubles (22) and extra-base hits (42). He finished third in games (73), second in at-bats (280), third in slugging (.543) and fifth in runs scored (49).

 

2005: Arizona League Cubs (Rookie)

Canzler batted .299 with 47 hits, 22 runs and 20 RBIs in 49 games. On defense, he committed six errors in 40 games at first for a .984 fielding percentage.

 

2004: Arizona League Cubs (Rookie)

In his rookie year, Canzler batted .248 with 13 RBIs and 12 runs scored in 32 games as 3B/DH for Arizona League Cubs.

Biography:

Selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 30th round of the 2004 First-Year Player Draft out of Hazleton (Pa.) Area High School ... scouted by Billy Blitzer ... named to the Northwest League postseason All-Star Team in 2005 and given the MiLB.com Short-Season Round Tripper award after leading the league in homers, RBIs and doubles ... batted .342 (38-for-111) against lefties and .237 (51-for-215) against righties in 2008 ... started the 2009 season with a 15-game hitting streak at Class A Advanced Daytona and promoted to Double-A Tennessee on May 1 ... finished second in the Southern League with 21 HRs for Tennessee in 2010 while batting .287 (102-for-355) with 66 RBIs in 112 games played at 3B, 1B, RF and LF ... signed by the Tampa Bay Rays as a Minor League free agent on Nov. 19, 2010.
